When the world stops being naked before me, I'll stop smoking and stop drinking and stop crying so damn much. I've never known what to do with my body or my hands, have never seen love except in boys and men and in the eyes of my mother when she lost me at the crossroads of seventeen. What am I to do, what am I to ask for, when nothing has ever slaughtered me. I'd rather burn myself alive, I think, than make someone believe in something I'm not. Been A While...

...And it'll be a while longer. Maybe you've noticed I haven't done much posting lately. Writing hasn't been coming as easily as I'd like it too, but that's another story. Anyway, day before yesterday, I spilled a whole bowl of cereal on my laptop. Stupid, right? I lost everything. All my writing, gone. Hard drive, fried. My mum knows a tech guy who'll take a look, and he 's done good work, so I'm hopeful he can recover my writing. But that's that. I may not be getting anything back. If so, I'll be starting from scratch. Writing will return, I'm sure, but thi has been kind of a rough patch. I write to survive. Losing my work feels like losi

Do a lady a favor?

So, recently, in some awkward happenstance, a piece that I scribbled on my high school bathroom's wall, made a big splash in my facebook social circle, because many people seem to really like it. I'm flattered and a little flustered by all the attention, because I'm not used to that sort of attention. However, it's raised an interesting confusion in my mind. One person, whom I've never actually met or even heard of (the picture was posted by a mutual friend), saw the picture and interpreted the poem in a completely different way than I did when I was writing it.
